Wayne County is a wild and wondrous place, and very remote. Our community experiences a lot of abandoned or stray animals and a lack of resources, which is where we step in! We are a small non-profit with 5 staff making a big impact through networking with larger resources and communities, putting food and accessory donations we receive back into the homes that need them. We're humbled to engage a wide variety of volunteers who enable us to care for countless animals, and provide our rescue animals with medical care in a "vet desert". 

We are always seeking to increase our effectiveness and therefore partner with Best Friends Animal Society for training, education, and shelter resources that keep our rescue population healthy and enriched. Through their support we offer a low-cost TNR program for feral or community cats, enabling low-income families access to vouchers so they can directly participate in our mission. We have made a tangible dent on the number of stray animals and unwanted litters in our large county, and our free pet food pantry is a local hit!

We seek to increase our foster program so we can step in to save more lives. We also have an active pet boarding service at our facility which attracts local and visitors to Capitol Reef National Park, encouraging families to bring their pets along on their adventures and making sure their pets get the play groups or snuggles they need.

Our mission is to reduce the number of stray cats and dogs in the Wayne County area and to advocate for the welfare of all animals. For every animal a forever home!
