About us
Dance is a social connector. Our proven arts education programs bring the joy and benefits of dance to students young and old, regardless of physical ability, native language or neuro type.
During our renowned 4th-8th grade Residency, students put down their devices and build their confidence, self-awareness, collaboration skills and respect for others through learning merengue, foxtrot, swing, and so much more. We focus on partnership, teamwork and respect, the origins and culture of each dance, and connection to one another and one’s own culture. Students are given curriculum connection writing assignments which assist them in reflecting on their growth. Each Residency ends with a performance, where families, friends and the local community can witness the transformation of the students. At the end of the school year, the Colors of the Rainbow Team Match brings together elementary school participants and families from communities all over Long Island, NY to dance together.
For grades K-3, Dancing with Rhythms & Stories explores rhythms from social and folk dances and encourages students to celebrate their own creativity through teamwork and dance creation. For ages 55 and up, our Silver Edition students enjoy memory-enhancing activities like music trivia as well seated or standing dancing.
