Circle of Friends Australia consists of local community groups or formally 'circles' which support asylum seekers and refugees living in the community, or visiting those in detention in Australia. Members of each circle come from a wide range of backgrounds but share a common commitment to welcoming and assisting new arrivals with the difficult process of establishing themselves in a new country, or with the challenges of detention.

 Over time we have covered a range of areas relating to refugee support such as: - Fundraising events for refugees fleeing the Taliban and arriving in Australia. - Rapid response assistance and payment of bills to assist with costs of living. - Providing assistance to newly arrived Ukrainian refugees in Australia fleeing the war and conflict in Ukraine. - Coordinating social events and activities for refugees to attend and be part of. - Assist those facing difficulties with housing or needing support in terms of legal aid. - Assisting refugees in Australia and their family members overseas. - Awareness raising events regarding refugees and asylum seekers in Australia. In 2023 we celebrated our 21st birthday with the aim to continue our valuable work in refugee support into the future. As a 100% volunteer run refugee support group also, all funds raised and generated go directly back into refugee support.
