The Chatty Café Scheme Australia is dedicated to combating loneliness and social isolation by promoting social connection opportunities at welcoming community and commercial venues. Australian research indicates one in four adults are lonely, and one in six experience chronic loneliness. Social isolation and loneliness impacts mentally, physically and socially. Our mission is to create safe spaces where individuals can engage in meaningful, respectful, interesting, fun conversations and build lasting friendships, over a cuppa! Currently, our network spans over 230 locations across Australia and 120+ registered Chatty volunteer Table hosts, we have seen firsthand the positive impact of these community-driven gatherings. However, we face a critical funding shortfall. The demand for our services is significant. The Chatty Café Scheme Australia is reaching out with an urgent call for support to continue its crucial work in combating loneliness and fostering community connections. Social health matters!
