John Burfitt has been fundraising for over 30 years in support of families who have a child with a life limiting illness. He had a desire to set up a charity so that families would continue to be supported long after he is able to continue his fundraising work. C.H.A.I.L.I.S (Children Having An Illness Living In Sunraysia) is the organisation which grew out of one man’s desire to make a difference. In early 2015 an official charity with tax deductibility status was formed. Families face great distances and expenses when they have to travel for tests and treatment for an unwell child. Often a parent will need to give up their employment during the time of their child’s illness, resulting in less income for the family during their most difficult time. C.H.A.I.L.I.S. supports the families as they undergo treatment with 100% of funds donated given to the families. We have a portfolio of families that are currently receiving our help. Enquiries to the charity may include monetary, travel, accommodation and equipment requests, each family is supported on an individual needs basis.
