Catspan Ferals Registered Charity
About us
We are dedicated to the welfare of feral and abandoned cats through trap/neuter/release and feeding programs. The overall aim is to decrease the population of unwanted cats humanely. We spay/neuter feral cats and ensure they are cared for. We take in feral kittens for socialization and adoption. We also help stray cats, by spay/neuter if needed, emergency Veterinary treatment and adoption if the cat's owner cannot be traced. We also provide emergency veterinary care or spay/neuter to low income cat owners on a case by case basis if funding permits. We do not receive any funding from the government. We rely on donations from supporters, fundraising events, and sometimes we receive a grant from the BC SPCA. We do not have any salaried employees or a shelter. All the cats are helped through the efforts of volunteers who do the trapping, fundraising, administration, and fostering in their own homes. This means that essentially all donations go directly to cat rescue efforts. We usually spay/neuter about 100 cats/year. We also provide about 175 additional veterinary treatments each year, as well as food to several feral cat colonies.
