CatNap Society Cover Photo
CatNap is a 100% volunteer-based non-profit registered Canadian charity that has been helping abandoned and homeless cats in Nanaimo, BC since 1998. Every year, our group gives a second chance at life to over 500 domestic and feral cats. Our mandate is to rescue abandoned cats/kittens, have them spayed or neutered, provide them with all recommended veterinary care, and find them good, loving homes. Spaying/neutering helps prevent future unwanted litters and reduces further suffering for these animals. For Feral (wild) cats, after spaying or neutering, they are released back to their original colony location and shelter, food, and water is provided daily by dedicated colony caregivers. We rely heavily on financial donations and fundraising events to help offset our operational costs. With minimal administrative overhead and no staffing costs, over 99% of money raised is used for vet fees and food/litter/foster care expenses.
