Imagine a place where heart surgery isn’t an option—not because it isn’t needed, but because it simply doesn’t exist.

No trained surgeons. No equipment. No public health system. No money. No hope.

For many families in low- and middle-income countries, life-saving heart surgery for a child or loved one is as rare as winning the lottery. Every year, between 4 to 50 children per 1,000 live births are born with congenital heart disease. In the U.S. and other high-resource countries, most of these children receive timely surgical care and go on to live healthy lives. But in the places we serve, they grow into adults still struggling to breathe, work, or attend school—simply because they never had the chance to receive the care they needed.

At CardioStart International, we’re changing that. Our mission is to build lasting, independent heart programs in underserved communities. We partner with local hospitals and medical teams to:

• Provide life-saving surgeries

• Deliver essential equipment and supplies

• Offer hands-on training in surgery, cardiology, and intensive care

• Help local programs become self-sufficient and sustainable

We don’t offer temporary relief—we build long-term solutions.

Heart disease is one of the world’s leading causes of death, yet in many nations, it receives little attention or funding. CardioStart is working to change that, one program at a time.
