ICAN, International Cancer Advocacy Network is a 501(c)(3) cancer charitable organization, Platinum-Rated on GuideStar and five-star rated as a Top-Rated Cancer Nonprofit and Healthcare Nonprofit at Great Nonprofits.

ICAN has two missions:  Improve survival and improve quality of life, patient by patient.  We have handled the most commonly diagnosed blood cancers, solid tumors, and sarcoma in addition to approximately 70% of all known rare tumors, and have seen synchronous cancers (two cancers, etc.) as well.

ICAN has 27 years of direct patient navigation experience and has dealt with Stage IV cancer patients in 82 countries.  In addition to professional councils, we have an International Research Consortium working on drug development, molecular modeling, new modes of drug administration for diagnoses such as leptomeningeal disease, microRNA, and epigenetics work.  We at ICAN wear numerous hats:  1) patient navigators and oncology nurses; 2) molecular profiling advocates; 3) clinical trials matching advocates; 4) compassionate use/expanded access matching advocates; 5) health equity and global access advocates; and 6) health information technology advocates (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning).  Our Biomarkers Council/Scientific Advisory Board keeps ICAN at the cutting edge. 

ICAN manages the Biomarker Collaborative; the Exon 20 Group and Exon 20 Warriors (for EGFR exon 20 insertion mutated patients and HER2 exon 20 insertion mutated patients); the MET Crusaders (MET exon 14 skipping/MET amplified/MET overexpression/MET fusion; and the PD-L1 Amplifieds (CD274+ by NGS).
