Butterflies By Blaq Inc. (Butterflies BBI) is a New York City-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to restoring confidence, dignity, and hope to children experiencing medical hair loss due to cancer treatment, alopecia, lupus, trichotillomania, and other medical conditions.

Founded in 2012 by Erna Blackman, & Kaiya Blackman Butterflies BBI provides free custom hair replacements and supportive services to children under 18, with a special focus on underserved and culturally diverse communities. Unlike traditional programs, Butterflies BBI matches each child with a personalized look that closely resembles their appearance before hair loss, helping them maintain their identity and self-esteem during a challenging time.

In addition to custom cranial prostheses, the organization offers home and hospital visits, transportation assistance when needed, hair donation programs, educational classes, youth empowerment initiatives, and caregiver support services. Butterflies BBI works closely with families, healthcare professionals, and community partners to ensure that every child receives compassionate, individualized care.
