Brother Wolf in Asheville, N.C. takes in unwanted dogs and cats and takes them to the vet to  have them checked out immediately.  After the vet has given them a clean bill of health physically, he/she tells the Brother Wolf staff  member that the dog or cat's mentality has been damaged: believing their previous owners will come back and they  never do.
