Bridging Lanka
About us
Bridging Lanka (BL), an Australian-registered grassroots charity, unifies the Sri Lankan diaspora to support aid efforts in war-affected Mannar in Northern Province. Post-war challenges include substance abuse, violence, unemployment, and lack of education. BL addresses these through projects like a fitness centre for young men, a café run by war widows, a home street school, a donkey clinic, dog vaccination programs, food security initiatives, and a campaign against sand mining.BL is building a preschool to provide early education as a pathway out of poverty. Success stories include a former substance addict who became Mr. Sri Lanka in bodybuilding, and an ex-gang leader turned life coach and award-winning filmmaker. These individuals and many others work with BL, contributing to community development.BL responds to social, economic, and environmental issues in Sri Lanka and beyond. We link expatriate Sri Lankans with nation-building opportunities, working towards better relations through constructive engagement with the Sri Lankan government. BL promotes a cohesive, diverse nation while pursuing poverty relief, social and economic empowerment, and welfare programs for those in need in Australia and overseas.Every contribution helps bridge divides and foster peace and prosperity. Support us in creating opportunities and improving lives in Mannar.
