Bridgetown Wildlife Rescue.. is a rescue shelter that operates 24_7 365 days a year..The shelter rescues around 200 injured, orphaned and sick wildlife a year.Bridgetown Wildlife Rescue specializes in kangaroo joeys, wallabies, possums and bandicoots.We also care for numerous native birds.The running costs are enormous,as we rely on the public for the funding of marsupial milk, grain, vet bills and medication. We are the only wildlife Rescue centre in the area that rehabilitates. marsupial wildlife from the furless stage ..through to release age which is 18 months old. This means that we have joeys in care for up to 15 months. It costs around $ 1000 to raise one kangaroo Joey... At the moment we have 18 small joeys on bottles and 12 juvenile joeys on bottles and that also eat grain. Without the public supporting us...we could not care for as many joeys that are orphaned through motor vehicle accidents or their environment being taken from them .
