The Newcastle Toy Run is the oldest annual event of its kind in Australia and the only RMS and police approved and escorted ride. The event commenced in 1978 with around 20 bikes. In 2018 ride drew an estimated 10,000 enthusiasts from Newcastle and beyond for the ride, with countless spectators assembling along the 25km route and several thousand attendees enjoying event festivities at the end location of Wickham Park. The purpose of the Toy Run is to provide toys and financial support for disadvantaged families in the immediate Newcastle/Lake Macquarie and Hunter Valley area at a time of year that has a negative impact for many families. All donations from the public are used in the local area.Over the past 5 years alone the ride has raised over $250,000 in cash donations and toys and helped 4000 families per year. We are seeking your help to make life a little easier for families in need particularly in 2020 as the circumstances of many are far worse.
