Bethlehem Farm is an intentional Catholic community in Appalachia that transforms lives through serving the local community and teaching sustainability. The Farm is staffed with single persons and families who have committed to build their daily lives upon the Gospel cornerstones of prayer, community, simplicity and service, while inviting high school, college and adult volunteers to join them in this life on service-retreat weeks. Volunteers leave with a vision for our common destiny, in which we care for the least among us, treat all life with utmost dignity, and exercise stewardship of Creation.Repairing Homes, Renewing Communities: Bethlehem Farm serves our sisters and brothers primarily through home repair sites. We go beyond hammering nails and dig deep into the basic need for people to feel loved and appreciated. Donations help a low-income family secure a safe, warm, dry, and healthy home.Green Neighbors: We infuse the teaching of sustainability concepts throughout our work while enabling our volunteers and wider local community to practice sustainability. We help low-income folks with weatherization, sustainable building materials, and access to affordable solar panels. Donations help reduce carbon emissions and promote biodiversity through care for creation.We welcome and serve everyone, regardless of identity.
