Through education the Australian Marine Environment Protection Association (AUSMEPA) is a leader in protecting Australia’s marine environment with its programs for students, teachers, schools, shipping companies and communities. Schools and seafarers use our FREE innovative education resources to protect our marine environment. Corporate sponsors, individual and ship members, kindly sponsor AUSMEPA, a not for profit organisation. Funds raised are used to create free, exciting action focused education resources for all to enjoy and learn from. We also send out FREE poster packs to schools, teachers and students. Goals set for AUSMEPA included: nurturing and instilling an increased marine environmental consciousness and awareness in Australians by means of education, information and publicity; establishing a visible presence in the Australian school system so that future generations of Australians are aware of the need to protect the marine environment; acting as a positive, independent voice about marine environmental concerns; publicly recognising particular achievements and/or contributions by individuals or organisations towards protecting and improving the marine environment; assisting those that have been shown through irrefutable evidence to have caused pollution or other degradation of the marine environment, to adopt environmentally responsible procedures and operations.
