We are Animal Ark of Summerlin Dog Rescue, located in Clemmons, North Carolina. We see a great need for animal rescue and rehabilitation that grows by leaps and bounds each and every day. Our mission is simple; We are doing our part to rescue, heal, spay/neuter and find our wonderful dogs a loving furever home. Some people say rescuing dogs is like trying to drain the ocean with teaspoon. We disagree. Every animals life is precious and every abandoned dog or cat deserves to know what it feels like to have a full belly, to be healthy, to sleep in a cozy bed, and to be loved. Phoenix, our happy little Beagle, was rescued from Reidsville, NC. He was covered in mange and eating rocks to fill his belly. Phoenix weighed 14 pounds when we got him. He spent the first hours with us in a warm tub of medicated water to raise his temperature and to loosen the crusty mange. It took several vet visits and a lot of love and good food to get him to where this precious soul is today. Phoenix is now a healthy, happy pupper who loves life. Gigi is a now beautiful Golden Retriever who was losing her hair and was scratching 24 hours a day when she was surrendered to us. Medicated baths, new food, a very expensive allergy test and medicines took our Gigi from a scrawny, sickly dog into a gorgeous Golden with a full coat of fur. She now leads a healthy happy life and will be 17 this year. Please help us continue to rescue and rehabilitate dogs like Phoenix and Gigi who need us the most. Who need an advocate.
