About us
Wisteria Community Association (WCA), also known as Stone Soup, is a registered charity (2019) powered by volunteers. A member of FoodRescue.ca since 2020, WCA provides food, friendship, and donated clothing and supplies to vulnerable populations in Nanaimo, including people who are homeless, almost homeless, or street-entrenched due to poverty, racism, mental illness and/or substance use disorders.
Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020, WCA has been delivering bagged lunches to 150+ homeless and low-income individuals nightly, from 6-8pm, in various locations. To date we have given out close to 52,000 meals
