Operating since 1992, the Winona Area Humane Society is a no-kill animal shelter that places hundreds of cats and dogs in loving forever homes each year. Our constant missions are: - To reunite lost animals with their families - Find forever homes for animals without families - Prevent cruelty to animals - Increase humane education in the Winona area - Work against breed-specific discrimination - Utilize research-based shelter care - Spay or neuter each adopted animal. WAHS is a small shelter that doesn’t receive state or federal funding, so our goals are possible only through donations and fundraisers! Times are tough in the animal rescue world right now, and WAHS is no exception. We are receiving a significant amount of surrender and stray animal requests for help, and we try to save as many animals as possible; but to do that, we’d love your assistance with keeping supplies stocked!
