Wichita Falls Area Food Bank
About us
Our mission is to Unite our Communities to Fight Hunger through Food, Education and Advocacy. We serve 12 counties in North Texas, which covers 10,500 square miles and is larger than the state of Massachusetts. We have 183 agencies that we partner with which includes food pantries, homeless shelters, women’s and children’s shelters, Boy’s and Girl’s Clubs, Campfire, and the Wichita Falls Independent School District. The population that we serve is at or below the poverty level. We believe service to others is fundamental to creating hunger-free communities. We serve with excellence, compassion, and responsiveness to meet the needs of those with whom we work internally and externally. The better we serve the more people we bring together in commitment to our vision. The week before Shelter in Place was administered, we were distributing 37,000 pounds of food each week and now we are averaging 200,000 pounds each week. We have spent well over $1,000,000 on food from January thru October with our agencies and the 11 WFAFB Mobile Pantries. Food pantries and other feeding organizations receive their food from us, so they are relying on us to have our shelves full. We rely on grants and donations to continue to serve.
