Vet Treks Foundation
About us
Vet Treks Foundation builds veterinary capacity in underserved areas in rural Kenya through pop-up clinics, high volume spay/neuter campaigns, provisioning medical equipment, supplies and drugs, and training the local veterinary community on best practices and humane animal care so that our impact sustains over the long-term. We also conduct high volume rabies vaccinations to help combat the spread of rabies to livestock and children, an endemic issue in Kenya. Through volunteer trips and collaboration with local stakeholders, our efforts establish sustainable care for animals and communities. We operate through the "One Health" philosophy which asserts the interconnectedness of humans, animals and the environment. Our work centers on ensuring animals receive adequate care and for the people dependent on them to receive maximum benefits of those services.
We need support to fund training and clinic costs which includes but is not limited to medical equipment, supplies and drugs as well as expenses related to sending veterinarians to remote areas of highest need to provide animal care and to run the training clinics. To increase sustainability, we also conduct outreach and engagement campaigns in service communities to expand education and awareness on animal health benefits and maintain a medical-digital database.
