About us
The United Way of Lamar County meets the needs of our community through funding our partner agencies and through our own internal programming. We run a rent and utility assistance program that spends $200,000 annually insuring families are able to stay in their homes safely with running water, electricity and gas. We run several youth programs including Kids Marathon, Read to the Future, Texas Scholars and college scholarships. We have nine mini food pantries in the county and one in our office. We distribute free diapers, books, fans, and heaters. We ask everyone to support us because we are the only agency that can fill in all the gaps, support all the issues in our community through our partner agencies, and constantly be flexible and adaptable to what is needed most.
