Since 2005, the United Community Center of Westchester, Inc. (UCCW) has been a lifeline of hope, compassion, and empowerment for more than one million individuals and families facing hardship throughout our community. Founded by Jackeline Agudelo, a dedicated social worker, alongside committed volunteers, UCCW was created to respond to the urgent humanitarian needs of vulnerable families with dignity and solidarity.

Today, UCCW serves immigrants, low income families, seniors, domestic violence survivors, unemployed workers, and individuals experiencing food insecurity, housing instability, and crisis. Through emergency assistance, food distribution, case management, workforce development, advocacy, youth programs, and supportive services, we help individuals rebuild their lives and move toward self sufficiency.

Many domestic violence survivors come to us seeking safety, hope, and guidance during the most difficult moments of their lives. One survivor shared, “UCCW helped me find my voice again and believe in a better future for my children and myself.”

Our Summer of Hope Camp provides children from struggling households and survivor families with a safe and joyful environment where they can heal, learn, build friendships, and simply enjoy being children. One parent shared, “Seeing my children smile again after everything we went through meant everything to me.”

Despite our impact, UCCW continues operating with limited funding while the demand for services grows every year. Recently, our organization also suffered a devastating flood that caused financial hardship and damage to our operations at a time when families need us more than ever.

Even through these challenges, we remain committed to serving our community with compassion and dedication.
