Brazil is one of the world’s most vibrant and beautiful countries, yet millions of animals live without safety, food, medical care, or a home. An estimated 30.19 million cats and dogs in Brazil are homeless, highlighting the enormous scale of the need. United Animal Rescue (CA registered public non-profit 501 c (3) EIN 86-3109207 is working to give these animals a second chance. We rescue an average of 12 animals every day and provide vaccinations, medical treatment, foster care, and sterilization. Our goal is to remove animals from the streets, help them recover, place them in loving homes, and prevent the homeless-animal population from continuing to grow.

In 2021, we opened our animal sanctuary outside of Salvador city state Bahia, Brazil. creating space to care for more than 200 animals at a time. The sanctuary enables us to provide daily shelter, urgent medical treatment, emergency surgeries, and public education focused on reducing animal homelessness. United Animal Rescue is a volunteer-led organization united around one mission: saving animals in need in Brazil. Due to weak enforcement of existing animal-welfare laws in Brazil, many animals remain vulnerable to abuse, abandonment, neglect, and horrific treatment both in homes and on the streets. United Animal Rescue provides protection at every stage—from emergency rescue and recovery to adoption into loving homes. Our mission is powered by an extraordinary network of volunteers who donate their time, compassion, and skills to save animals in need. But without financial resources, we cannot continue this work. With over 30 million homeless animals roaming the streets of Brazil, our mission is no small task. We are working to improve a broken system on a grand scale and progress starts with small steps. With each animal rescued and each citizen educated, we are working to reduce that number. With your donation we can provide:
