MISSION: Underground Railroad Education Center researches and preserves the local and national history of the Underground Railroad movement, its international connections, and its legacy to today’s social justice issues, thereby empowering people of all ages to be agents of change toward an equitable and just society.

As a non-profit 501 c 3 organization we are involved in historic preservation of a documented and National Register listed Underground Railroad site, programs aimed at adults, youth programs, programs working with the elderly, gardens and neighborhood beautification and building a net zero interpretive center to house our burgeoning programs. We change lives through sharing the story of those written out of the standard narrative about the Underground Railroad.
