For 54 years, MEND has served as a critical resource for people in crisis and those working toward long-term stability. What started in a Valley garage has grown into a community anchor, now supporting over 34,000 people annually through both immediate crisis services and sustained case management.

The people we serve are predominantly low-income and people of color. Many are homeless or on the brink of losing housing. MEND operates with a "no wrong door" policy—anyone who walks through our doors can access the help they need without barriers or judgment.

Our services address the interconnected challenges people face: food insecurity, chronic health conditions, mental health struggles, unemployment, and lack of access to social services. We provide food distribution, health and wellness programs, employment assistance, case management, and navigation support—all designed to help people move from crisis to stability.
