Since 1968, Truckee-Donner Historical Society has been a non profit 501(c)(3) all volunteer organization whose MISSION is to discover, procure and preserve whatever may relate to the aboriginal, natural, civil, literary, and ecclesiastical history of the Town of Truckee and surrounding area. Our VISION is to preserve and protect the history of Truckee. We maintain the Joseph Research Library Cabin, our research facility, in addition to the Old Truckee Jail Museum, the Memorial Arch and Garden, Schaffer Cemetery, Truckee Springs, and, shared with the Truckee Donner Railroad Society, are co-sponsors of the Museum of Truckee History.
