The World Around is the global platform for architecture and design, championing the visionary voices that shape our cities, planet, and future.

Led by curator and critic Beatrice Galilee, The World Around is a New York-based charity and 501(c)(3) nonprofit made up of an international and interdisciplinary team of storytellers, filmmakers and urbanists. We strive to nurture and advance the practices, people, and solutions building a more equitable and regenerative world.

Our work encompasses programs that spotlight the most urgent and exciting ideas in architecture and design today; Initiatives, including our flagship Young Climate Prize, which celebrates and mentors under-25s addressing the climate crisis through design; Insights that synthesize the research and perspectives of our global network; and our extensive Archive, an online video library of original talks, interviews, and presentations sharing the work and ideas of the world’s best practitioners, and making them accessible to all.
