The New Mexico Association for the Education of Young Children (NMAEYC) is a statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing high-quality early childhood education for all children from birth through age eight. As the state affiliate of the National Association for the Education of Young Children, NMAEYC promotes professional excellence, equitable access, and strong early learning systems across New Mexico’s diverse communities.

NMAEYC serves early childhood educators, childcare providers, families, and community partners through professional development, workforce support, advocacy, and community-centered programs. Each year, the organization provides no-cost or low-cost training to hundreds of educators, with a strong focus on rural, tribal, and multilingual communities to ensure they have access to research-based practices, culturally responsive resources, and high-quality learning opportunities.

The organization also hosts New Mexico’s largest annual early childhood conference, connecting more than a thousand educators, leaders, and families with innovative workshops, credentialing opportunities, networking, and statewide collaboration. NMAEYC advocates for policies that strengthen the early childhood workforce, expand access to quality childcare, and improve outcomes for young children and families.

Rooted in equity, relationship-building, and lifelong learning, NMAEYC works to ensure that every child in New Mexico has the opportunity to thrive, and that the adults who support them have the training, compensation, and respect they deserve.
