Welcome to the Dorset Equine Rescue! We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Southern Vermont and are dedicated to rescuing neglected, abused and slaughter bound horses in New England and the northeast. To date we have helped close to 400 horses in dire situations. We have a platinum rating on GuideStar, are top rated through Great Nonprofitās and are the only organization in Vermont be accredited through the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries. We also help Vermont horse owners through our program, the Vermont Hay Bank by providing temporary hay assistance for Vermont horse owners going through a hardship. By sharing our website and Facebook page with your friends, you are helping to spread awareness about animal welfare issues and what our organization does, which grows our support system and helps us help more horses in need.
