The Animal Pad is a 501c3 nonprofit dog rescue, run solely by volunteers and donations, that focuses on rescuing and rehabilitating dogs from Baja, California. Being that we are located in San Diego and so close to the border, it is a true honor to get to help street dogs in Mexico, where some of the worst cases of abuse and neglect take place. Just 20 minutes from the border, at San Diego’s dog beach, dogs get to frolic on the sand and play without a care in the world, as loved and cherished family members. Homeless dogs of Baja don’t have this luxury and we are working toward changing this every day by getting these dogs off the street, giving them the very best of care, and finding them amazing forever homes here in San Diego. Taking them from “stray to slay,” as we so lovingly call it.
