To address the burden of cardiovascular disease in Rwanda by increasing access to care through collecting and sharing data, improving facilities, education, and skill transfer, and access to essential cardiac medications and supplies for all. 

Since 2007, Team Heart, an international volunteer-based non-profit, has partnered with the Rwanda Ministry of Health, and King Faisal Hospital (KFH) to expand access to cardiac care for vulnerable populations. Over the past 18 years, this collaboration has enabled more than 750 life-saving heart surgeries, laying the foundation for the development of a nationally led independent cardiac surgery program. Now working in seven districts to improve cardiac care in the community.
