Housing North is a non-profit governed by a 13 member Board of Directors representing business, philanthropy, local government, and more. It works to build awareness, influence policy, and expand capacity so communities can create housing solutions that meet their unique needs. Our vision is that Northwest Michigan will be a place where residents of all income levels can find homes that are safe and affordable.

We cover the rural 10 county region of Antrim, Benzie, Charlevoix, Emmet, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Leelanau, Manistee, Missaukee, and Wexford counties. We work though close partnerships with local, county, and state level communities and representatives. We focus on providing technical support around housing through capacity building and our Housing Ready Program. We also focus on providing communications and awareness and policy and advocacy all around housing to help our communities remove barriers and create the type of housing they need. We work locally (county by county), regionally (we are the regional lead for our statewide housing plan) and statewide (we are a member of the Housing Michigan Coalition).
