About us
The Sydenham Conservation Foundation is a non-profit, non-political, charitable organization, which was incorporated in 1991 and registered with the Canada Revenue Agency for tax-deductible donation purposes. It was formed by several local, concerned conservationists to address, in part, the problem of rapidly disappearing public access to environmentally sensitive lands, waters, and forests.
The Sydenham Conservation Foundation has been actively involved in Ontario, primarily in Grey and Bruce Counties, since its inception. The Foundation is managed by five elected directors who have varied backgrounds in education, administration and nature resources, which are utilized to further the organization's objectives. The Foundation has purchased over 1,500 acres in the Township of Georgian Bluffs and the geographic Township of Sullivan, now Township of Chatsworth, Grey County in the past nine years on the Pottawatomi, Sydenham, Suable and Saugeen River watersheds.
