Sophie's Neighborhood is a nonprofit funding scientific and medical research into an ultra rare and progressively crippling genetic bone and kidney condition, MCTO. It affects less than 60 people worldwide, including Sophie, for which Sophie's Neighborhood is named. Our foundation raises funds in order to advance research that will in turn enable the approval of effective therapeutics that inhibit the disease for patients globally. Due to its rarity, there is very little understood and to date science has been understudied and underfunded for MCTO. This foundation has been on the fastest path possible changing the future outlook for patients with the condition since 2020.
