Founded in 2011 by two mothers who experienced the loss of their children to adoption, SOS is dedicated to ensuring no family makes a permanent decision during a temporary crisis.

Our Mission

Saving Our Sisters (SOS) supports expectant families navigating adoption decisions. We provide clear, fact-based information and practical help—so families can make fully informed choices and avoid a permanent decision driven by a temporary crisis, pressure, or misinformation.

SOS focuses on direct action and education that prioritizes family preservation whenever possible. We help parents find resources, understand the impacts of adoption separation on the natural family, learn about the lifelong effects of maternal separation on infants, and connect with local support and mentorship.
