SAFE Newman was established in 2011 when a SAFE Karratha volunteer relocated to Newman. On arrival she realised that there was a need for animal rescue in Newman, and SAFE Newman was formed.Saving Animals from Euthanasia Inc (SAFE) was founded in Karratha in 2003 and since its inception more than 40,530 healthy, rehomable animals have been saved and adopted to new homes.  SAFE operates on the foster care model and has 11 branches throughout Western Australia (WA).   SAFE relies heavily on the goodwill and dedication of our 2,000+ volunteers.SAFE liaises with other rescue groups throughout the State, to rehome pets in Perth, or where specialised care for particular breeds is required. SAFE works tirelessly with their local communities to improve knowledge about responsible pet ownership, including the importance of desexing, microchipping and registration.
