Rukmini Foundation was established in 2011 to address the root causes of discrimination and disenfranchisement of girls in vulnerable areas of Nepal. Our mission is to empower girls through a holistic approach so that we can eradicate child marriage, end gender inequality, and enable a more equitable and prosperous Nepal.

Since its founding, the foundation has grown from offering basic education support to implementing a comprehensive three-tier approach to better meet the needs of students. Beyond this core work, the foundation extends its impact through two additional programs that uplift the broader community.

• GYAN (Quality Education) Program: Through partnerships with A School for Community (ASC) and local government schools in the Pharping area, including Setidevi, Arunodaya, and Pharping Secondary, the foundation provides scholarships to girls from families who cannot afford educational expenses. These scholarships support students through the completion of 10th grade, ensuring financial barriers don't prevent their academic progress.

• AAYUSH (Physical Wellness) Program: In collaboration with the nearby Manmohan Memorial Community Hospital, students receive comprehensive health check-ups at least twice yearly. The foundation also runs health awareness programs led by Patan Hospital, one of the country's premier medical institutions, ensuring students have the knowledge and care they need to thrive.

• DIDI (Mentorship) Program: High school graduates, current college students, and women working in professional fields like teaching and nursing serve as mentors to current students. These inspiring role models not only encourage girls to pursue their dreams but also provide confidential support as students navigate personal challenges.

• Global GLOW Program: This flagship initiative creates spaces where girls can explore leadership, share their passions and dreams, build confidence, and develop into changemakers. The program includes Moms Clubs that help Nepali mothers connect and strengthen their communities, while also fostering global connections between girls and women who support each other across borders.

• SAHĀRĀ Program: When natural disasters, pandemics like COVID-19, earthquakes, or civil unrest strike, this program provides crucial support to those most affected, helping communities recover and rebuild.
