Rising Phoenix Thoroughbred Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in San Juan Capistrano, California, bringing together two missions: giving rescued horses a second chance, and helping people find connection, confidence, and hope in recovery.

We rescue and care for Thoroughbreds affected by neglect, abandonment, or the threat of slaughter. Through patient care and relationship-based horsemanship, we give these horses the time and support they need to rebuild trust.

These same horses offer meaningful opportunities for people navigating addiction recovery, trauma, and mental-health challenges, including veterans. Working alongside treatment programs and recovery organizations, we provide equine-assisted experiences that encourage communication, healthy boundaries, responsibility, and trust.

Your support helps provide feed, veterinary care, farrier services, and safe housing for our horses, while making recovery experiences accessible to people who might otherwise be unable to participate.

At Rising Phoenix, second chances reach both horses and people. Please vote for us and help support the care and connections that make those second chances possible.
