The North Kingstown Exeter Animal Protection League, Inc. dba Pet Refuge is a 501(c)3 non- profit charitable no-kill cat shelter located in North Kingstown, RI. We take in roughly 350 cats annually that come from tough situations. This includes people becoming homeless, the elderly, the sick, or the passed who can no longer care for their cats. We also take in cats who are in dire situations found fending for themselves in the streets. We help the community by providing a clean and safe environment for these beautiful animals and give love, care, medical treatment, and if adoptable, will find them forever homes that are fully vetted and researched always after spay/neuter and vaccinations are given. If not adoptable, they are well cared for and loved in our open spaces in our shelter (not caged long term). We are no-kill and will spare no expense to care for and provide all medical services to give the cat a quality of life. We are not funded through the state or town and rely on donations, corporate or individual sponsors, fundraising, and grants.
