Partners Aligned Toward Health brings together many volunteers, professionals, and organizations to achieve the vision of vibrant communities of active, healthy children, families, and individuals. We approach this vision through programs and initiatives targeted toward members of all ages and abilities across Mitchell and Yancey Counties in Western North Carolina.

We are committed to promoting healthy lifestyles, preventing and addressing substance misuse, and addressing the social determinants of health that shape the well-being of our residents. By empowering individuals and fostering a culture of well-being, we cultivate a community where healthy choices are not only accessible but also fun and actively encouraged. Through a combination of evidence-based models, encouraging lifelong physical activity, and addressing emerging needs, PATH’s ground-up approach continues to improve the health and well-being of our community.

PATH’s mission of creating health and wellness for children and families is reflected throughout every program. Initiatives such as Appalachian Youth to Youth develop youth leadership, mental health awareness, and substance use prevention through peer led activities, while Cougar Fit Club integrates physical activity with emotional wellness. Community programs such as the Sizzlin’ Summer Series, Toe River Racqueteers Tennis and Pickleball Camps, and the Burnsville Fit Families 5K create welcoming opportunities for residents to connect, stay active, and support one another. The CARE Team provides bilingual outreach and culturally responsive support that helps families access essential resources with dignity, while the Home Remedies initiative expands access to holistic options such as meditation, acupuncture, and massage for managing pain and stress. All PATH programs are offered free of charge, ensuring that cost is never a barrier to participation, connection, or care.
