About us

Oak Hill Animal Rescue, Inc. (OHAR), with offices located near Dallas, Texas is a non-profit animal welfare organization started by Jim and Bettye Baker. After doing rescue on a personal level most of their lives, OHAR was established in 2006 as a non-breed specific rescue with the intent to help save dogs and cats from euthanasia in city shelters.

Our Mission is Compassion in Action

To show by example the simplest ways to make a difference in the lives of animals.

A registered PetSmart Partner, Oak Hill Animal Rescue holds weekend adoptions at the PetSmart Store in North Garland, Texas. Applicants are screened and humane education provided to new homes on pet care and the long-term commitment to this new family member.
