Northern Ireland Exotic Sanctuary is Northern Ireland’s only dedicated reptile rescue. A multi award winning rescue focused on snakes, lizards, tortoises, turtles, amphibians and invertebrates.

We take in unwanted, abandoned and homeless reptiles, and find them loving new homes, or offer them permanent sanctuary with us here.

With capacity for around 85 animals at any given time, including our recently expanded large animal area, we rehome an average of 140 animals per year and currently have 6 permanent residents who cannot be rehomed for various health and legal reasons.

We are entirely volunteer run, receiving no funding or external financial support.

In the last 9 months we have grown from a team of 2 committed directors, to a thriving team of 20 volunteers, with regular induction days for those interested in joining us.

As a team, we rehabilitate, socialise and otherwise ready each animal for its forever home to ensure the best match between human and pet.

We also run a series of fundraising events throughout the year, where you are welcome to join us in raising money and awareness for our cause

Or, why not organise a fundraiser on our behalf? A work coffee morning, a sponsored walk with a Scout group, the possibilities are endless and we will offer all the support we can.

We receive no income other than donations and our fundraising effort, and every penny raised goes directly to the care and welfare of these often over looked pets.
