NextSense (formerly the Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children) is a 165-year-old national charity with a mission to reach more Australians with hearing or vision loss and help them redefine what’s possible. We offer the most comprehensive range of services in the sector—including early intervention, paediatric audiology, education programs, allied health therapies, and cochlear implant services. These supports are delivered by dedicated, highly experienced specialists and connect clients to a broader community with lived experience.
Beyond our day-to-day services, we are committed to advancing the field through professional education for teachers and allied health professionals, and through research and innovation that keep us at the forefront of best practice and emerging technology.
As a not-for-profit organisation and registered NDIS provider, we believe everyone should have access to the services they need, regardless of their circumstances. That's why we partner with like-minded philanthropists and organisations whose generosity helps us go further—delivering tailored, wraparound supports and investing in the infrastructure and innovation that shape the future.
Together, we're removing barriers and expanding possibilities—so people with hearing and vision loss have every opportunity to reach their full potential.
