The mission of Lyon County Court Appointed Advocates (CASA), a non-profit agency established in 2009 serves the residents of Lyon County is to recruit, train, support and retain volunteers as guardian ad litem so that every abused and neglected child can be safe, establish permanence and has the opportunity to thrive. Since the establishment Lyon County CASA has worked consistently and tirelessly to give a voice to our most vulnerable population-the children in the child welfare system. Most recently Lyon County CASA has seen a increase in appointment to cross over youth that are involved in the justice system and long-standing high conflict custody cases to represent the best interest of the youth as Guardian Ad Litems. Through this increase in advocacy need, Lyon County Court Appointed Advocates is looking to expand its volunteer base to include all children deemed in need of a Guardian Ad Litem as Lyon County Court Appointed Advocates and Youth Support.
