Jewish Los Angeles Special Needs Financial Services, Inc
Jewish Los Angeles Special Needs Financial Services, Inc

The core function of JLA Trust is to provide professional fiduciary services for children and adults with a wide range of physical, mental, and intellectual/developmental disabilities in Los Angeles County and throughout California. Our high quality personalized trustee services are greatly appreciated by our enrolled beneficiaries, and we also provide education, tools, referrals and other services to assist families with long-term financial and legal planning for a loved one with a serious disability.

Our pooled special needs trusts provide vital affordable trustee services for people with significant disabilities who need a safe harbor for private funds they have received so they can keep receiving their means-tested government benefits such as SSI, Medi-Cal and CalFresh.

We offer three types of pooled special needs trusts:

(1)    First-party trusts established from funds directed to the beneficiary from legal proceedings such as settlements or inheritance

(2)    Third-party trusts established by a grantor, usually a parent or relative, who wants to set aside money for an adult child/relative with a serious disability who receives SSI and other government benefits such as Medi-Cal and IHSS.

(3)    Future Funded 3rd Party Trusts are established with a minimal deposit creating the trust for future deposits including life insurance proceeds, inheritance, and legal settlements.
