JAMES RIVER OUTDOOR COALITION (JROC) was formed by park users in 1997 to provide support and improvements to the James River Park System in Richmond, VA. The JRPS is over 600 acres in multiple sections along the James River. It's members provide the labor, as well as financial support, for projects ranging from spreading gravel to trail building and maintenance to construction of a universal access ramp for river access. Projects are proposed by park staff and JROC members and selected by membership vote. It is a hands on organization whose work and administration is 100% volunteers.
