The mission of House of Heroes is to honor and serve military veterans, their spouses, and public safety veterans in recognition of their selfless service and sacrifice to our country.

We fulfill this mission by providing one-day, no-cost home repairs that improve the safety, accessibility, and sustainability of their homes. Our organization is powered entirely by dedicated volunteers and skilled craftsmen who generously donate their time and talents to help these heroes remain safe, independent, and able to age in place.

Services include the construction of wheelchair ramps, installation of stairlifts, replacement of doors and windows, deck repairs and staining, safety landscaping, grab bars, railings, and a wide variety of other home repairs designed to help veterans continue living comfortably in their own homes.

To qualify for assistance, applicants must provide a DD Form 214 showing an honorable discharge, own and reside in the home, and demonstrate either a physical or financial need.

Since our founding in 2012, House of Heroes has completed more than 300 home repair projects for Connecticut veterans and their families, making a lasting difference in the lives of those who have served.
