Habitat for Humanity of Goldsboro-Wayne's vision is a community in which everyone has a decent place to live. Our mission therefore is to put God's love into action by working with our neighbors to build homes, community and hope through affordable home ownership. We believe that home ownership can provide families with the opportunity to build those better futures for themselves, and we have been successful in this effort since 2001 with 100 homes built and the next 100 already underway. Equally as important is making sure families are able to remain safely and securely in their homes and so in 2018 we began a home repair program that is now focused on critical roof repairs and replacements. All of our families are low- to moderate-income, all go through an application process, and all are required to pay an affordable mortgage or repair fee, making Habitat a true hand up, not a hand out.
