The Glassy Mountain Fire Foundation is a 501(c)3 public charity whose sole purpose is to support the operations of the Glassy Mountain Fire Service Area (GMFSA), which provides fire and medical services to the northern most 52 square miles of Greenville County, SC. This area is historically been known as "the dark corner" due to its rugged terrain and in the past, lack of emergency services. Because of the support of our community, the Fire Foundation has been successful in providing medical training for personnel of the GMFSA which now provides Advanced Life Support-Paramedic Level emergency medical services to its citizens. The Foundation continues to provide funding for medical training and medical equipment for the GMFSA. It also funds the Recruitment and Retention programs for both career and volunteer members of the GMFSA.
